Atelier 1 Speaker Design by Dieter Rams
This speaker was designed by German industrial designer Dieter Rams in 1957. He launched the epoch-making Atelier 1 series, in which the L1 speaker and receiver unit were separated, which changed the pattern of audio equipment and became the industry standard. In 1959, this design concept was further developed into the Atelier 1-81 compact system, designed by Dieter Rams and Ulrich Bohn. The radio, record player unit and two speakers can be completely separated. All parts are the same size and can be stacked freely at will. The design of the wooden paneling not only gives a unified aesthetic, but also allows people to witness the combination of full functionality and aesthetics with the perfect shape and simple lines, and also shows Dieter Rams' design philosophy of "less, but better".
